Went walking around town with a friend of mine. We're going to be traveling all over Michigan, as well as parts of the United States this spring and summer.
Plans to go to California, as well as walking part of the Appellation Trail. Should make for some pretty interesting photos. I'm pretty excited about whats to come in the next year as far as the locations of my photography.

Skater Advocate Product Shoot
http://skatersadvocatestore.com/
Recently shot some product shots for the local skate shop. They're running a holiday special and need some work done. Itching for it to start snowing so I can shoot some snow photos. (For once)
Decided that I'm going to update the blog every Monday at least. So bookmark this page, and check back regularly!

5D Mark II

Finally, after about a year of working, and saving my pennies I finally bought a 5D Mark II. At first I was a little nervous buying a camera that cost that much.... But, why work if you're not going to buy anything. Right? Just a few test shots with the new guy. Kinda sucks having to start over, and learn a new camera again. But its one down side I really don't mind much at all.

I have a blog...
Been working a ton these past few weeks. Shooting all the time!! It's been the better part of 2-yrs now and although it may have seemed so far off, and almost out of reach but..... "Its starting to pay off"!
I'm going to start second shooting next month. I have a wedding booked next August, shooting their engagement photos this Monday. The pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together, and I'm liking the picture so far!

SEXUAL & VIOLENT
Kristin Stoner-Gay
78 shirts + 7 pairs of pants + 3 pairs of shoes + 1 pistol + 1 magazine + 1 leaky car = Successful Photo shoot!!!
Kristin had a less then perfect morning but the shoot went great. Shot mostly with the 50mm f1.4 prime, the photos turned out sharp as can be. Night and day difference from the "Nifty Fifty" 1.8.
Kristin is great to work with because shes one of those people that just naturally fall into a good pose; barely needs any direction at all. Perfect natural light everywhere we went, only had to use an off camera flash a few times just to bring her out some more.
All in all, perfect shoot, perfect day, and a few hours off my 10,000hours.

Its About Time
I'm no good at posting daily, but to update on everything so far, lots of changes to come. The next four mouths are going to be rough. Sticking to a $50 a week budget to save and make my move.
Enough about that, about this photo now. It was and idea I wanted to do but it turned out to be harder then expected. I wanted to have a really slow shutter speed to capture motion but at 11:30am the sun doesn't want to help much. I had my ND filter, as well as my CP filter, which still only got me to around 1/2 a second, at f22. But thanks to shooting RAW I was able to bring back the exposure and come away with this shot. I think it turned out pretty cool for a last minute idea.

Second Shooting Position...
Billy Christie
Meeting with Ignited Photography tomorrow to talk about a possible second shooting position. If everything works out, and this turns into something, I could potentially be on my way to shooting weddings within the next year or so. But almost better then that.... Ill have to take Saturdays off of work so I can go to the weddings and shoot them!! Boo Yaa

Could be the big break...
This was a self portrait I took of myself last winter. I was going for a really strong effect from the snow, and "bokeh" working together but it didn't snow for very long. I would have probably shot for a bit longer, but about 15min in there was a pack of coyotes out in the back of my house. I wasn't really interested in hanging around for very long.
I've got a few big things coming up really fast... A few not so major, and one that could potentially change my life entirely. I've been preparing for a while, not if just gotta "Nut up, or Shut up!!" (Tallahassee) We'll see.

iPhone 4s
This was a Photoshop CS5.5 test. The bottom right image is the original image shot on my iPhone 4s. The bottom left is edited with instagram. The top image was edited in Adobe lightroom & Photoshop.
Ive missed a few days on my photo-a-day project. So I'm going to be making up for it these next few days. Going to be posting a lot of new photos, and maybe a few older ones that never made the site, but I'm re-editing now.

Dying to Live
Billy Christie
If your life was made into a movie after you die... Do you want it to go straight to video? Get out there and be somebody. The purpose of life, is to have a life with purpose.

Risk
Billy Christie
Going to be making some serious changes in the next few weeks. Been long over due, and much needed. Sometimes you've gotta just take a chance, and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out, then you still tried.
Day 3 Woo Whoooo!!
Tuesday, June 12, 2012
This summer is going to be different.
So the "Photo-A-Day" project is coming along. Not so sure if I can really say too much because its only the second day. But, as of now, I'm still doing it. (Got farther then I thought) I figured that I always have my iPhone so why not utilize that as an option.
Awesome day to say the least. Got to see an old friend I haven't seen in awhile, road the bike 76miles (somehow still have my watch tan line) and got to just relax. Going to start planing a trip out to California to see some friends, and enjoy the ocean from the west coast.
I've got to get out of Michigan for a few days. I like going up north to have some "away-time" but there's too much world to go out and see. Becoming a photographer has made me want to travel that much more. I just want to go everywhere!!
Whats weird is that for some reason that seems unrealistic and something that a lot of people want to do, but never end up doing. Whether their job wont let them, or the cost to fly here, or there is just too steep; there's always something that is holding people back from doing something that they "want-to-do". I can say that because I was that person. Every summer I would make plans to go somewhere and I never go. Well this summer is different. I cant just sit ideally by and just waste my life. Miss out on experiences that I really want to be apart of. Because when your 90-years old and you're laying on your death bed and you look back, what would you rather see? Being at work all of the time, and never doing the things you really wished you could have done because you just couldn't get away from work, or you didn't think that you could raise the money to go anywhere? Or do you want to look back and remember what it looks like to be on top of half dome in Yosemite National Park, or remember the hustle and bustle of New York, or the mountains of Colorado? ect. To me, that an easy one.
Long story made still kinda long, Iwant need to start traveling, and see the world.

Jamie Christie
So I've decided to update the blog daily from here on out. I want to start shooting more, and getting more photos out there and onto the web. I figured this, as well as the website will be the best way to do so. If you are reading this, and haven't seen the webpage you should go check it out!

Here's a few of Jamie, a senor that was a bit tricky to get shots of. Long story short, she really didn't want to get any photos taken, but, we made her!!!

New Soft Box
Elizabeth Raddatz
Bought a new Soft Box and I am really starting to like it! At first I thought the umbrellas were working just fine, but I hated that they have a lot larger amount of fall off, and spill light. I went with the Soft Box because I have heard they are a lot better light, and you don't have as much spill. Wasn't sure if they really would work better but I bought one anyway. Its soo much better then I was expecting. Expect a lot more for it. And remember to check out the website if you like what you see here.

Its time to defrost!!
Chaz Watkins
So it's just about summer, winter is pretty much on the outs. And those of you that live in the Mid-West you know how great being able that is.
This summer is going to be great. I'm in the process of getting a new job so I can focus more on my Photography, and work more towards what I'm trying to do. I have a TON planned for this summer. I'm in the middle of planning a trip to Aspen, CO to get some photos of the mountains and everything Aspen has to offer. I have a few friends that live in California so ill be heading out there sometime this summer as well. New York is also on my list of places to see but I think I'd like to go out there during the Holiday season. (Kevin Mcallister Style)

New Face On Life
Courtney Lulek
I've decided that I'm going to utilize the cold of winter and plan a trip for the summer. If everything goes to plan, I want to have enough money saved to be able to go on a trip every month of summer. East coast, West coast, and somewhere in the middle. I have mixed feelings about it in the sense that I feel like if I go to New York, or California, or Colorado, or Utah. ect. There's a very good chance that I might not be coming back from there. I like living in Michigan, but 22 winters here gets real old, real fast.I've got a few second shooting jobs coming up, and I'm about to get the T-Shirt companies wheels into motion; so my work load is getting pretty heavy. On the other hand if it starts paying the bills then its better then Jet's. BOOKMARK THE PAGE!!!! Big things are coming.

New Year
Billy Christie
With the New Year just getting underway, I'm very excited to see what this year has in store for me. Looking back at New Years last year, my life has changed a ton!! Starting to work for myself with my camera, working less at my job I've had for the past 6-years... I guess getting my life together and really working for something I'm very excited about. This year I've really been able to taste what my life could be like; taking photos for a living. So far its been a great ride, and I'm really looking forward to see what this year has in store for me.
